Result of Inquiry
Stewards opened and completed an inquiry on Wednesday 29th October 2014 into the circumstances of the greyhound Piero trained by Mr Robert Isaacson that competed in a Grade 5 Heat series on Wednesday 8th October.
It was established that Piero was eligible for a Grade 5 start on Wednesday but would not be allowed to start in the final on Monday 13th October as the dog was a Grade 4 for Angle Park Monday Nights. This would make the greyhound ineligible to compete in the Grade 5 series under the required conditions set down for this series. The greyhound was later scratched from the final of the series.
Evidence was taken from Mr Robert Isaacson trainer, Mr Shaun Mathieson Racing Manager and Mr Greg Barber Grader for G.R.S.A
After giving consideration to the evidence presented, the Greyhound Piero was disqualified from the event and placing’s amended under the rule.
Rule 64 (1)
Where a greyhound was ineligible to compete in an event or started from an incorrect box position, it shall be disqualified from the event and the finishing positions amended accordingly.
Mr Isaacson was reminded of his obligations into the correct placement of his greyhounds.
