Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA) is the controlling body for greyhound racing in South Australia. GRSA established the organisation with the primary objective of managing the sport responsibly and ethically while establishing itself as a national leader in racing integrity and greyhound welfare.

CURRENT VACANCIES

Due to a recent restructure, GRSA are seeking an enthusiastic Infrastructure and Facilities Manager to assist in project management for identified initiatives and the day-to-day management of the company’s venues, buildings, equipment and machinery.  Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for;

  • Oversight and coordination of repairs and maintenance in relation to GRSA venues including tracks, infrastructure, equipment, machinery and general facilities.
  • Supervision of the Track Maintenance and Facilities Team/s across four venues.
  • Execution of multiple concurrent tasks and championing efficiency through continuous improvement.
  • Prioritisation and workflow management as well as coaching and mentoring of staff.
  • Preparation and maintenance of a scheduled maintenance program, ensuring its consistency with budget requirements.
  • Keeping abreast of WHS legislation and ensuring WHS procedures are met and adhered to by all members of staff.
  • Liaising with trades, suppliers, industry participants and all departments of GRSA.
  • Project management of any new construction as required.
  • Ensuring all tracks are maintained consistently in accordance with industry standards.
  • Coordination of track upgrades as directed.
  • Acting as the point of contact and rectifying any non-compliance or complaint/feedback from industry participants regarding track and ground maintenance and venue facilities.
  • Oversight of operational aspects associated with conducting race meetings and major events including, but not limited to, track and kennel house preparation, lure maintenance and site set up.
  • Administrative duties such as monthly reporting and procurement.
  • Review and management of GRSA’s contractor management plan.
  • Additional duties as required.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Trade qualified an advantage.
  • Experience within a fast-paced, high volume and diverse sports, racing, retail, leisure, hospitality or events industry.
  • Proven experience in contractor management.
  • Proven experience in maintaining financial records, expense management and reporting.
  • Computer literacy as well as sound written and verbal skills is a must.

The individual needs to have excellent people skills as well as being able to think on their feet to solve problems quickly.  A flexible approach to workdays and hours is also essential.

GRSA are seeking applications the position of Steward.  The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of stewards within a dynamic racing environment.

Reporting to the Chief Steward, you will play a pivotal role in assisting with the integrity and policing of our industry.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assist in the fair application of the GRSA Rules of Racing 
  • Assist with the control and conduct of race meetings
  • Provide general administrative support
  • Assist with the conduct of Stewards inquires
  • Conduct or attend kennel inspections
  • Ensuring licensed persons comply with GRSA Code of Practice
  • Respond to enquiries from registered persons

The following experience and/or attributes will be highly regarded:

  • Demonstrable experience in running race meetings and/or officiating sporting events
  • A knowledge of the rules of greyhound racing
  • Highly developed communication and report writing skills
  • Detailed-orientated

Greyhound Racing SA Limited (GRSA) is the controlling body responsible for encouraging, promoting and conducting greyhound racing throughout South Australia. Its primary role is to ensure the responsible and ethical management of the sport, the enforcement of local and national rules of racing and the effective conduct of racing operations.  Our four TAB tracks play host to a racing schedule of more than 400 meetings each year.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join the Maintenance Team at our home of racing, Angle Park.  Reporting directly to the Infrastructure and Facilities Manager, you will assist in the delivery of quality, safe racing surfaces, grounds and associated facilities at our Angle Park venue.

The role will have a major focus on horticulture (turf management, garden bed maintenance, mulching and pruning), irrigation system maintenance as well as maintaining the site’s public entrances and hospitality venues to a high standard.  In addition, it will be expected that the successful candidate will undertake training and education in the track preparation process and acquire an understanding of the SafeChase lure system with the view to being capable of undertaking maintenance on the system.  Furthermore, the role will assist with the overall maintenance of the venue, minor project assistance and general repairs.

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

•    experience with tractors and turf machinery 
•    basic computer skills
•    a flexible work approach to perform a wide variety of tasks
•    the physical capabilities to meet the requirements of the position
•    a passion for working outdoors
•    qualifications in Turf Management or Horticulture and forklift licence will be well regarded

Good communication and time management skills as well as the ability to work as a part of a team is essential. 

This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis and is classified as Trackwork and Pool Supervisor under the Racing Industry Grounds Maintenance Award. There is a requirement for out of normal working hours availability, including weekends and events.

Situated North of Adelaide’s CBD at the home of greyhound racing in SA; Angle Park, McQueens Tavern, owned and operated by Greyhound Racing SA, offers an award-winning dining service as well as a great sports bar and gaming lounge.

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Casual Cook/Chef available for immediate start (20 hours per week), to prepare diverse and delicious meal to our patrons.

The role includes:

•    Preparing for meal service, cooking and plating meals to set standard according to the menu and orders
•    Influencing food costs via portion control, waste minimisation and stock control
•    Cleaning work areas and other kitchen cleaning duties as the role requires

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

•    The ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings and weekends
•    2+ years’ experience in a similar role
•    An understanding of internal food policies and procedures to ensure consistent food quality standards
•    A creative, and passionate approach to food with a proven history of providing a quality standard of food service
•    A positive attitude and ability to thrive under pressure
