Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA) is the controlling body for greyhound racing in South Australia. GRSA established the organisation with the primary objective of managing the sport responsibly and ethically while establishing itself as a national leader in racing integrity and greyhound welfare.

CURRENT VACANCIES

Due to a recent restructure, GRSA are seeking an enthusiastic Infrastructure and Facilities Manager to assist in project management for identified initiatives and the day-to-day management of the company’s venues, buildings, equipment and machinery.  Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for;

  • Oversight and coordination of repairs and maintenance in relation to GRSA venues including tracks, infrastructure, equipment, machinery and general facilities.
  • Supervision of the Track Maintenance and Facilities Team/s across four venues.
  • Execution of multiple concurrent tasks and championing efficiency through continuous improvement.
  • Prioritisation and workflow management as well as coaching and mentoring of staff.
  • Preparation and maintenance of a scheduled maintenance program, ensuring its consistency with budget requirements.
  • Keeping abreast of WHS legislation and ensuring WHS procedures are met and adhered to by all members of staff.
  • Liaising with trades, suppliers, industry participants and all departments of GRSA.
  • Project management of any new construction as required.
  • Ensuring all tracks are maintained consistently in accordance with industry standards.
  • Coordination of track upgrades as directed.
  • Acting as the point of contact and rectifying any non-compliance or complaint/feedback from industry participants regarding track and ground maintenance and venue facilities.
  • Oversight of operational aspects associated with conducting race meetings and major events including, but not limited to, track and kennel house preparation, lure maintenance and site set up.
  • Administrative duties such as monthly reporting and procurement.
  • Review and management of GRSA’s contractor management plan.
  • Additional duties as required.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Trade qualified an advantage.
  • Experience within a fast-paced, high volume and diverse sports, racing, retail, leisure, hospitality or events industry.
  • Proven experience in contractor management.
  • Proven experience in maintaining financial records, expense management and reporting.
  • Computer literacy as well as sound written and verbal skills is a must.

This is a dynamic and fast-paced position that requires excellent communication, organisational and time management skills. The individual needs to have excellent people skills as well as being able to think on their feet to solve problems quickly.  A flexible approach to workdays and hours is also essential.

The integrity of the greyhound racing product is a vital component of the Greyhound Racing SA. Stewards are a key function of upholding the integrity of the industry, by ensuring the transparent and fair conduct of racing and associated procedures within South Australia. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Apply GRSA rules of racing and relevant guidelines to industry participants.
  • Actively contribute to the delivery of GRSA stewarding operations to ensure effective and accurate race day functions.
  • Conduct thorough pre-race track inspections.
  • Investigate race day incidents and conduct out-of-competition testing
  • Assist in the accurate and timely preparation of Steward’s reports.
  • Assist in integrity and welfare functions
  • Respond to enquiries from registered persons.

To be considered for this role you will preferably have:

  • Previous experience in a wagering, racing, sporting, or similar industry (desirable)
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Sharp oral and written communication skills
  • Sound computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A current Police clearance completed within the last 3 months
  • A valid Australian driver’s licence is required
  • A level of medical and physical fitness sufficient to be able to perform the inherent requirements of the role

This position may require travel to all 4 GRSA race tracks and is worked on a rostered schedule including morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts.
