Friday Meeting
Jack Trengove enjoyed a good day at the track for our Friday card, collecting a pair of winners for the afternoon. Sharing was the first and she was simply way too good in taking out the 680m staying race. Coming out of box eight, she was stuck wide early as they went around the first turn and had to show some smarts to avoid getting into a bumping duel. After balancing up down the back straight, she let rip with a powerful dash and zoomed to the front, before setting up a big lead. It was race over from that point, as she held a big margin through the line, winning by seven lengths in a smart 39.99, which made it five wins from her last six starts!  Jack’s other winner came in the form of Allinga Metro, who won his grade 6 over the 395m trip. From box six, he stepped quickly and settled in front.  Working into the turn he stayed in the middle of the track, but that proved to be a non issue, as he kept on going in the lead and ultimately was too good, winning by a length in 22.73 and capping off a nice day for Jack!

Maddie Schulz would have been very pleased with the win of her chaser Weblec Scooter, who is part owned by former club president Neville Loechel. From box four in the Grade 6 event, the black dog jumped well and settled on speed, albeit with a fight on his hands with plenty of pressure coming to his outside. With a big rush around the turn, Weblec Scooter had to work hard to hold his spot on the rail, but tenacity showed as he fended off the challengers and pushed to a clear lead at the top of the straight. It was a tense battle late with another challenge coming, but he did just enough and got the job done in 22.88.

Tuesday meeting
Dave Peckham had a monster day up the straight, training four winners on the card! Ibrox Goram was the first and he made full use of the preferential box draw system by proving way too good over the 300m trip. From a clearly suitable box eight, he fired straight to the front and never looked like losing, running 17.17 and winning by two lengths. Aston Azul was next and she produced a similar effort to win over the same distance. Having her second go up the straight, she got the start spot on and went straight to the early lead. Things were not as easy in comparison to the win of the kennelmate earlier, with pressure coming mid race and Aston Azul needing to respond. With the challenge seeking an answer, she produced a good one and held on to win a thriller in 17.18. With the last two races of the day being run over the 350m distance, Peckham took both of them out. The first of those two was Aston Jimena, who won easily from box six. She went straight to the front and was never challenged in her Grade 6 race, running a very handy 19.38. Her brother Aston Bright rounded off the day and four winners for Peckham, with a gutsy win from box six. He was taken out early by the wide running Flash Gordon and didn’t get clear running until after 100m. Halfway up the straight, he was able to really work through his gears and despite all the early interference, he showed enough strength and fight to win very well in 19.65, with the time certainly not indicative of the effort. A great day for Dave who does a lot of racing at the Murray Bridge track.

Wario has been a real revelation in recent times and has proven himself to be one of the most inform dogs going around right now. He was able to continue that run on Tuesday, winning in flying time over the 300m trip. In the Grade 5 field, he started a red hot favourite and it didn’t take long to see why, as he revved up through his gears early along the fence and held a lead. Halfway up, he stepped it up another gear and quickly set up an even bigger margin on the others, before storming away for a totally dominant 16.56 victory. That win was also his second at Murray Bridge within the week, as he also took out the fast class race over the 395m trip on Friday, fair to say he is flying!
