Mt. Gambier Cup Heats this weekend

The Mount Gambier Cup Carnival kicked off last Friday with two heats of the Produce Store Feature Maiden with the first four qualifying for the $1,800 Final on Cup Final day on Friday 15th March. 

This weekend on Sunday the action really hots up with seven terrific heats of the Trackside Meats Mount Gambier Cup. Ben Rawlings will be travelling down from the city with two if his star chasers in King Ashy and Mighty Chaos to take on the local stars from the region and highly talented Interstaters. Greyhounds to look out for in the series are the likes of Lika Gem, Barnicle, Regent Bonny, Spellbound, Our Testa Talken and Baurna Paddy. The racing will be cut throat with only the winners and the fastest second qualifying for the $6,000 Final on March 15. 

The final day of the carnival will not only feature the Trackside Meats Mount Gambier Cup Final and the Pruduce Store Maiden Final, it will also feature the $2,050 Distance Championship over 732m and an Open Best 8 worth $1,500 over the 400m. Consolations of the Cup and Maiden will add to a bumper program. 

In fantastic news for the club the Trackside Meats Mount Gambier Cup Final will be dual simulcast on Sky Racing 1 and Sky Racing 2. The final will be race 8 due to start at 3.58pm and it is shaping as a great day of greyhound racing.
