Lewiston trainer Yvonne Maxwell had a massive weekend. Yvonne had three greyhounds nominated at two different race meetings on Saturday and Sunday in South Australia. She started the weekend off well when her greyhound My Dilemma won at Angle Park over 342 meters. Her other Greyhound Prince Conner ran an improving second behind Grab The Pizza’s in an earlier race at Angle Park.

Her strong weekend would continue at Gawler on Sunday Night when her only nominated greyhound for the evening Love And Rain would line up in race ten from box one. Love And Rain’s form heading into the race looked good. She had won two of her last three starts before Sunday Night and she recently set a new personal best time of 31.26 at Gawler. That personal best time was about to be broken again though because Love And Rain would lead all of the way from box one. She ran a time of 31.00 and she defeated Wizardry Things by 1 length.

Love And Rain is part owned by Michael Evans who is based in Whyalla. He travelled down to watch her race at Gawler on Wednesday when she ran second but unfortunately missed seeing her win on Sunday Night. Trainer Yvonne Maxwell mentioned how she was keen to get Love And Rain over from Western Australia and racing here in South Australia. She is also very impressed with how her kennel is travelling at the moment stating, “I was chuffed that My Dilemma won on Saturday since he had to overcome a nasty snake bite”. Yvonne only moved to Lewiston from Whyalla recently and it looks like the move is paying off so far.

Troy Murray also had a strong night at Gawler on Sunday. His new greyhound Chicks Love Me returned from a spell and won race five. Shall Not made it four wins from four starts. He ran a new personal best time of 22.70 and he also rounded out a double for trainer Troy Murray. Evanston trainer Rosa Panagiotou returned to the winners list with her greyhound Benjamin Rose winning race three. Other impressive winners were Howling Hoss in race six running a time of 22.63 for trainer Shelly Trengove. Didelis set a new personal best time of 22.73 in race seven for trainer Tony Nobes. Ben Rawlings also managed to score a double with Snakebite Diva in race four and the returning Vontae Mack in eleven.
