Wild weather doesn't slow Price at Gawler

With wild weather in the forecast, Gawler’s Friday meeting was moved from the afternoon to the morning with the full 10-race card completed prior to widespread power outages across the Gawler region. 
Nicole Price was one trainer who enjoyed an excellent morning grabbing four winners on the card in an excellent training performance. 
The first was impressive youngster Mad Maverick, who made it three wins from three starts to begin his career leading all the way from box one to win the grade six in the second event on the program in 22.84. 
Split Vision made it a running double in the third race on the program, overcoming an awkward draw in box five to power past the early leader in Spring Maze around the back before opening up to win by five and a half lengths in 22.79. 
Boots made it three winners for Price, showing excellent speed from box two with 3.23 first split to find the early lead. Holding the chasing pack at bay down the back, Boots was able to win in 30.69 by two lengths in front of the fast-finishing Zoe Rose. 
Not So Precious completed the quarter of winners for Price after finding the front after a group of four greyhounds vied for the early lead. Once in the lead, Not So Precious opened up an advantage in winning by two lengths in 22.93. 
 Kim Johnstone also enjoyed a good morning at Gawler collecting a double on the card including Stone Cut who broke through to win his maiden in career start number seven. 
The double was complete with the impressive Weblec Delight making it three wins from six career starts with a slick win over the 400m trip. From box four, a slick first split of 8.70 saw Weblec Delight find the early lead and hold the chasing pack at bay in winning by one and a half lengths in 22.82. 
Rob Harnas also grabbed a double on the card, with a pair of best of the day winners to close out the program. The first was the well-supported Victory Club who won by five lengths from box eight in 22.79 before Night Falcon went quicker in the last, winning in 22.69 from box one which was the best time of the day.
Racing continues at Gawler with the Christmas Fun Night on Sunday December with plenty of family activities on and off the track including the chance for someone to take home a PS5 on the night.

Wednesday’s time graded meeting was run in much nicer weather, with the sun well and truly out for the 12-race program. 
It was a big day for Jack Trengove who claimed four winners on the program which included Victa Vern taking out the maiden in 23.48 in race two on the card before Terrific Molly who grabbed a 5 plus win 400m race in 23.02. 
Trengove completed the quarter of winners in the final two races on the card with Victa Bob winning from box eight in 22.98 while Triangular closed out the card with a two-length win from box three in 23.02. 
The best of the day time on Wednesday went to the Bec McAuley-Fry trained Irene who made it back-to-back wins with a nice run from box four. 
Powering to the early lead with an 8.66 first split, Irene was able to hold the lead down the back straight and win by a length and a half in the best time of the day over the 400m journey which was 22.77. 
The win was the ninth career win for Irene from just 33 starts,
