TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow
Tonight’s West End feature events over the sprint and the staying journey are the top races on our programme tonight. There are several chances in each event from both local and Interstaters.
The sprint which is race 6 on the card, is an absolute ripper with at least 5 chances, but I have gone with the decent box draws as these draws will help them enormously tonight in such classy fields.
Cintiarna showed good pace here last week to lead throughout from a middle draw and should be the big improver for Sandra Collins from box 1. With a fantastic record of 18 wins and 7 places from just the 35 starts she will take holding out in the run to the first turn. Kalden Kurageous would be the quickest dog in the field but needs to land on the bunny early and if the inside two miss the kick the Troy Murray sprinter would prove very hard to beat. Add in Mepunga Geordie for Jeff Britton and Young Snozz, and that could be the First 4.
On to the Distance final in race 8 and this is an interesting event with the inside 4 being the main chances. Local hope Kalden Mayhem was super impressive when winning in 43.36 last week but his box manners can be a worry. The Troy Murray performer has won 4 of his past 5 runs here and at Cannington and will be the one charging home late. Mimicking is well drawn down in box 1 for Robert Britton and did rattle home to beat the early leader in Cousin Callum last week in 43.33. He is another with good form and has terrific box manners. The interesting runner is Proven Impala in box 4, she led them a merry dance here last week in the heats when a short priced favourite and was mowed down by Kalden Mayhem. We all know she is a class act and is another who will be improved by the run.
Best Bets:- Race 1 - Rocket To Excel for George Rehmann, boxed to perfection out in box 7 and should kick us off on a winning note.
Race 5:- The Ossie Chegia trained Deville, resuming from a long break can bounce straight back into the winners circle over the 600m tonight.
Best Roughies:- Race 10, From The Top for Janice Jones in box 6.
Best Each way:- Venture to race 7, Tripping Cowboy out in box 7. A quick beginner who can cross and get on the bunny.
Trifectas Box up:- Race 1 2/3/4/7
Race 9 1/2/4/5
MAN FROM THE TOWER
BEST BET
Thursday - Race 2, No. 2 Hope’s Up trained by Cameron Butcher. Reigning SA Greyhound of the Year who should hit the lead early and be hard to beat.
