Dear Trainer!
I am emailing with regard to an online survey I am currently conducting on corns in greyhounds.
A little bit about me:
I am working as a medical (human) pathologist in a university hospital in Norway. Before qualifying as a medical doctor I qualified as a veterinary surgeon (from the University of Bristol) and did regular locums as a track veterinary surgeon at Rye House, Walthamstow and Milton Keynes greyhound stadiums (unfortunately all now closed). During this time I developed a passion for greyhound racing and an interest in the medical care of greyhounds. I became particularly interested in digital pad corns mainly due to the lack of effective treatments and the high chance of recurrence after treatment.
I am conducting a research project on digital pad corns in greyhounds and part of this is a survey to find out what greyhound veterinarians and greyhound trainers believe about digital pad corns in greyhounds, hence this survey. The survey (in an altered form) has already been distributed to greyhound veterinary surgeons in New Zealand, Ireland, UK, USA and Australia and after a good response the survey is coming to an end. I would now like to survey the opinions of the trainers and owners. My survey is web-based (online) and I am trying find good ways of distributing the link to the survey to get to as many trainers as possible.
I am not supported or part of any organisation and am funding all the research myself. I appreciate that all trainers are busy and have little time, however I would be very grateful if you are able to find the time to complete the questionnaire.
My experience has always been that trainers are always interested in improving the lives of racing greyhounds and this survey will hopefully produce something positive and useful.
