It’s unusual for one track record to fall at a race meeting let alone two however that’s what happened last night at the Strathalbyn twilight meeting.

The Strathalbyn track has been producing some good times recently with the change to the same sand used at Angle Park but no one expected the blistering times last night.

At his first race start Disco Chase trained by Kaye Burns sizzled around the Southern Greyhound Raceway in a flying 23.72 for the 416m journey winning by 7 lengths in Race 2 and smashing the previous track record of 23.81 set by quality sprinter Young Hector back in April of 2007. Interestingly in the next race He’s Fancy for Pat Moule also broke the old track record running 23.80 for the 416m.

In Race 7 the 536m track record held by open company flyer Right Time of 30.85 set in January last year was bettered by the Allan Francis trained Rock Pepper who blistered around the track in a brilliant 30.77 in winning by 4 ½ lengths. This was Rock Peppers third lifetime win and highlights her potential for the future.
