TONIGHTS ANGLE PARK PREVIEW

TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow

Well if you had a punt Monday night there were a couple of roughies that saluted the judge, but we should be able to bounce back at headquarters tonight with several good things.

Leading trainer Shaun Matcott can kick the night off with Fluer Bale in the opening event.  She is in outstanding form with wins here in 30.22 & 30.25 and can grow a leg from the rails draw.  She should make it three wins on the trot.  The dangers if any, look to be the Leanne Fagan trained Awesome Surfer and my roughie for the race Discriminate, who is struggling of late but will be rattling home at good odds.

Race 2 and the Colin Swain trained sprinter in Senni Tony proved very costly when unplaced here last start from box 2.  His previous form was first class and should be able to bounce back.  The main chances in the top 3 are Aston Zizzle for Troy Murray, that kennel could get Nipper and Nimble to win at the moment  and add in Zippered and they appear the major contenders.

The 3rd and the 4th events on the card appear to be very open and any of the top 4 in each are more than capable of winning.  I have tipped 3-4-6-7 in the 3rd and 1-2-4 in race 4.  Look out for Russian Fighter, for Petar Jovanovic from the poor draw of 5 in race 4 who only needs a clear run for a bold showing.

In race 5 Springvale Cool has struck form with 4 wins on the trot here all in quick times and only the draw would beat her.  Emerley Cliona for the Hurley camp can run a cheeky race from the rails and the speedy Kalden Mischief who is carving out slick times over the short course can lead for a long long way.

Race 6, and this is a terrific 600m event and for the last time I will tip Dyna Aline to win.  She should sit on the pace and will be rattling home over the top of them and FINALLY break-through for a much deserved win.  The pacey Fair Change and Wonder Whirl will be the pace setters and are a chance of holding on if there is an ounce of early trouble.

I think if you threw a dart in race 7 several times it would be very hard to hit the winner.  There does look to be several chances with a heap of early pace to the run to the 1st turn so I will stick with the well-drawn sprinters in Dominco Bale and Grainne O’Malley.  They will be the front runners, add in Miss Avocet and Aleta Allen for the pick 4.

Race 8 looks yet another open high grade event with speed and stamina across all runners. The 1st split will be interesting with brilliant beginners Prank Call drawn 2 and last week’s joint 1st split record holder Ritza Ben out of the 8. They could get run down however by both Linguist and Cousin Callum who both rattle home and the nicely drawn Dyna Bruce out of the red could be the surprise packet.

Open the wallets because Emerley Lover looks to be one of the best bets on the card from box 6 in race 9.  The Troy Murray kennel is on fire and this one will be very hard to beat.  The Johnstone kennel has a handy one in Encosta Kahn and appears the main danger.  The other 6 runners are all capable of filling the trifecta.

The last two are very open for mine but I like Bruce Lorian in race 10 and Yasi Girl in race 11. Yasi Girl has a heap of early pace and should lead throughout in the final event for Karen Bearpark.
