Tonight's Angle Park Preview

02/07/2015
Racing News

Well there goes another financial year so it’s time we start backing a few winners to boost the old bank account.  The highlights on tonight’s programme are a mixture over three distances, two handy 600m events and a 731m.  We must all be watching race 6 on the card as we see the all-conquering Optic Shimmer, she has more pickets (wins) next to her name, nearly enough to go around Adelaide Oval!!!!!

Race 1 and we can kick off with the Trevor Jessup trained Scarp Missile.  She won here on debut and led throughout for a smart win in 30.13.  She should only be improved and is very quick early.  The big dangers look to be Cosmic Shez out in box 8 and Sandave Gem.  Box up 2.3.7.8

Race 2 and this is a very open affair with several chances.  I like one who hasn’t missed a cheque in her last 4 and that is Yarramundi Hanna.  She has pace and hopefully she can be in the top 3 into the back.  Roxette Bale is honest and so is Silver Crown.  Box Up 2.3.5.7

Race 3 and the Jovanovic kennel can go home with a winner in Lucky Road.  He is well drawn down in box 2 and should be cherry ripe to score.  Fast Noodle will be running on along with Aston Archer who loves to run a place.  Box Up 1.2.3.6

Race 4 and the 1st of the 600m events, I am going with pace in Nebula.  He has moderate beginners on his inside and that will be a great help.  Supersonic Hawk will be charging home as usual and don’t leave out Dyna Inca.  Box Up 3.4.6.8

The 2nd of the 600’s and he looks a good thing and that is Placid Planet.  He led and won here last week in a slick 34.92 from box 7 and looks far too good again.  So we will make him the standout for the trifecta.  8 from 2.4.5 Boxed.

Race 6 and we see the flying Optic Shimmer start here from Box 1.  She has won 10 from 10 since transferring to SA and Owner/Trainer Robyn Mackellar has placed her perfectly in mixing tracks and distances.  Can she win again, YES!!!! Box Up 1 from 2.3.7

Race 7 and Matty Payne has a handy one in Ritza Raider who loves this draw and has a personal best from the same draw.  Big Zap returned to form with a good win at Gawler and will be running on late.  Box up 1.2.4.8

Race 8 and how good is this race with a mix of pace and strength.  Kalden Gambino is my pick who is in the Ray Murray kennel.  He flew home here last start to win after finding trouble early and led throughout at his previous run for a strong 29.64 win.  He is boxed to win, add in Peejay Jack who hasn’t missed a place in his last 5 along with He’s A Villian.  Box up 2.3.4.8

The 9th and this is the 731m event where we are tipping Grifter Bale.  He was an eye catching run here last start when flying home to run 3rd beaten a 1L in the Sayers Cup Final.  Top pick for mine. Springvale Clint is strong and is VERY fit.  He won here last start and is the big danger.  Box Up 2.5.7.8

Race 10 and Mathew Payne can bring up a double when Ritza Star wins from box 7.  He was a strong winner here last week from box 1 in 30.08 and should win again.  Seiko Bale keeps on popping up and is a must for trifecta punters.  Box Up 1.2.6.7

The final event and this is a good one to go home on as its wide open and if we are in trouble they are all even.  I will go with Rellim Allan down in box 2.  He is hit and miss early but strong. Point Made will be right in it along with Rupert.  Box Up 1.2.4.5.

Two terrific semi finals were conducted on Tuesday at Gawler for the rich 2015 Gawler Produce series.

Here Comes Henry ran 30.92 and box 8 in the final will allow him plenty of room to balance up.

The second semi final went the way of Mrs Bubbles for trainer Matthew Payne. He has recently taken over her training with her improvement highlighted by a brilliant 30.32 win in her semi final. This is only a tick outside the long standing track record where she led throughout to win from Wheel Spinner and Scottish Thistle.

UPDATED BREEDING RULES FROM 1ST JULY

From the 1st July there will be new breeding rules in place regarding the Registration of a Breeding Female, reporting of Litters and Breeding Restrictions. The Breeding Female is to do with registering your bitch for a Pink Card before you breed from her. She needs to be DNA tested and registered before she can breed. The changes to rules make it clear that all paperwork and processes have to be completed before she can be inseminated. Please update yourself with the new conditions in kennel capers, on the GRSA website or contact GRSA Animal Welfare Officer Belinda Pearce.

RACING IN QUEENSLAND

If you are intending to race in Queensland there will be a requirement for interstate trainers to sign a Statutory Declaration prior to nominating a greyhound from 1 July 2015.

Racing Queensland has advised that people are at liberty to submit alternative declarations for consideration by RQ. These forms are available from GRSA and will be available on the GRSA website for participants shortly. Please contact me for any assistance if traveling to Queensland.
