Tonight's Angle Park Preview
TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow
Another Thursday night and the programme looks an even one. We have a terrific 700m event and the St Patricks Day sprint looks a top race. Good luck and let’s back some winners.
Race 1 and the favourite will be Dustnado, who won here last start in a slick 29.89. He has returned to form and is a power house when on song. I have tipped Genghis Kahn however from box 1 purely because of the draw. Box up 1.2.4.5.
Race 2 this is a good race but with a heap of ordinary beginner’s Hairy Bear will be kicking up and will be hard to beat from box 2. However he is very ordinary early so needs a touch of luck. Power Merc is well drawn and will be right in this. Box up 1.2.3.8
Race 3 and Suntory Gold can be a risky beginner but she has a decent draw here tonight and can kick up and score. There are a heap of dangers so look to Wild Soul and Junta Bale. Box up 1.2.3.8
The fourth and jump on Very Bitta for the Harvey kennel. He has a good record from box 1 and looks the best bet on the programme. Box up 1.2.3.4 as there is a heap who can fill the placing’s
This is an interesting race. The 700m event of the night looks a two dog battle with the youngster in Luna Jinx and Token Mclaren. They are both very smart and both can miss the kick. The leader will be Doona Bale and if there is trouble she could pinch this. Box up 1.4.5.7 in a top race
Race 6 and this is a very open affair with a heap of chances. I am tipping another moderate beginner in Right Time, he is all class. Noble Kahn can lead early along with Galilee Spirit. Box up 1.2.7.8.
This is a good race and there looks to be three main chances. Defib Daryl is in good form along with Encosta Kahn who has proven costly in recent weeks. Add in Mel Allen from box 1 and Senni Tony who will be rattling home late. Box up 1.3.4.5.
Race 8 and I am looking for a front runner and that is Dee Dee Corsair from box 8. It’s crunch time and he can carve across at handy odds in a VERY good field. Chemical Maker is in form along with Set The Scene. It’s a very good betting race and don’t be surprised if there’s an upset. Box up 2.3.6.8.
Race 9 and recent form for all the field is very ordinary. I threw the dice in the air and it landed on number 2 along with 3.4.7. Good luck in a tough race.
The 10th and the inside three are the ones to back. Mr Donatello has the draw and will be very hard to beat for mine. Follow the numbers and it will be 1.2.3.and the cheeky Poida for the Fagan Kennel. Box up 1.2.3.7.
The “Get Out” Stakes but we should be well in front (I hope). Let’s jump on Dyna Hula. Despite the poor draw of 4 have a saviour on Run Dee Cee. Box up 1.4.5.7.
Best Bet Race10 Mr Donatello
Best Eachway Race 8 Dee Dee Corsair (Get On)
Best Roughie Race 1 Dyna Millier
Kennel to follow for the night, Petar Jovanovic has 3 runners and all have a big chance…

ST PATRICK’S DAY SPRINT
The feature tonight on a terrific card of racing will be the St Patrick’s Day Sprint. The Sprint is worth $4,265 in total with the winner taking home $2,985 plus a trophy and rug to be run as race 8 due to start at 9.11pm (SA time).
The Sprint has brought together a fantastic line up of greyhounds with all eight greyhounds given an eachway chance. Set The Scene for Laurie Cahalan fresh from his brilliant win in the Anniversary Cup last week will find it a little harder from box 2 with plenty of speed around him however he is in super form and a touch of luck will put him right in the race. Chemical Maker for Troy Murray is racing in career best form with a scintillating 29.65 win here last week and looks hard to beat again. He is part of a two pronged attack with last start impressive 600m winner Emerley Lover also a big chance from the Murray camp. Ken Gill looks to have Farmeroo primed for tonight after a strong win last start over the 515m in a slick 29.78 and will be hugely advantaged by the one box. Dee Dee Corsair has brilliant speed for trainer Robyn Mackellar and the wide draw should not worry him. He ran terrific in the Mt Gambier Cup series finishing second in the final before a very nice second last start at headquarters and has a big chance of leading. Throw in the most consistent Allen Illem and both Contrarian & Proven Juddy who made the Anniversary Cup final last week and the contest is outstanding. Tattsbet is offering a huge Trifecta Jackpot on this race of $13,181 with the pool expected to get to $60,000.
Race 5 tonight at 8.10pm is virtually a carbon copy of the West End Draught Distance Championship Final from last week with all the main players engaged again over the staying trip. The box draw tonight however looks to aid Luna Jinx with her drawn close to the rails but the win of Token McLaren was unbelievable last week and its hard to tip against this classy customer. Doona Bale and Kaylarikki will probably battle out the minors however a slip up from the main fancies could easily see them win. Its also great to see Abdon Bale back on the race track and he gets a run from box 8 tonight. At only his second run back after a long let up he was seen getting home nicely over the 600m last week so he has to be kept very safe if he can recapture the form that saw him represent SA in the National Distance Final in 2012.
It looks a great night of racing, good luck to all connections chasing their own pot of gold!

UPCOMING INDUSTRY MEETINGS
As part of the GRSA ‘s Industry consultation we will be meeting with Annual Panels over the coming months. We have listed the next Industry Trainers meeting for tomorrow (Friday March 21) at 10.00am at Gawler to assist trainers who want to race on that day.
The next ICG meeting will be on Friday 4th April with the Agenda sent out this week.
BREEDERS REBATE FOR MISSED LITTER
From the previous Breeders Task Force meeting back in March 2013 the panel made an amendment to the Breeders Rebate conditions that if a bitch misses or the pups are still born then a rebate can be claimed for the sunk cost associated with that mating. This will however be considered as one of the two rebates allowed in each financial year and is likely to be largely restricted to reimbursement of veterinary expense (maximum $600). Rebates under these circumstances will not include the stud fee because it is assumed that a condition of the mating is that it will accommodate a return service when a bitch misses or produces a still-born litter. Breeders are reminded of this condition and that it is imperative that before getting their bitch served that they lodge the application for the rebate with GRSA up to 3 days before the service or else a rebate may not be approved.
