A field worthy of the main race of the year in S.A and although I’d like to see history made I’m tipping the champ Fernando Bale to get beat. The favoured runners have drawn awkwardly but I’m leaning toward Number 7 Kayda Shae, one of the few dogs to have beaten Fernando Bale previously. It was a top run in his heat, it may of ran second but beat itself running up backsides and checking itself several times, the run on the track will help it and I’m expecting improvement. Have to put Fernando Bale in for second as it went 4.34 to the post and even had a minor stumble out of boxes. Wouldn’t mind being wrong and seeing the million dollars in earnings reached. The runner I think can run a bolters race is number one Waymore’s Blues, was kept out wide in its heat that cost it a few lengths and rocketed home in 12.70 to get second, has the good draw and I think it’ll run into the multiples. I don’t like Dyna Double One from the draw, wanting to shift out on the first turn won’t do it any favours, Secret Spell is a first 4 chance as is Shared Equity, I can’t see either South Australian representatives Mobius and Lachlan Brown (which I think will be a star of the future) troubling them but getting into the final is an achievement itself. Like most big races the battle to the first turn will determine the outcome. I’m tipping the upset. Well Done and good luck to all involved.
