Wednesday

Paula Hearnden landed an overdue winner in the form of Long Gully Tracy (Lachlan Brown x Long Gully Helen) who broke her maiden status with a professional effort over the short trip. After making a good debut the week prior, she landed in box two for this week's effort and with the kind draw she jumped straight to the front. It was a relatively painless watch when she found the front, as she ran away and won by a space in 23.28. Hopefully it’s the first of a few more for the black bitch!

The performance of the day came from the Ben Rawlings trained Agent Nineteen, who flew around the 400m trip with a flying best of the day effort. Wednesday’s effort from box four was his third run back from a spell, and once he found the front early, it was race over. A quick 8.67 first split allowed him to set up a margin up the back straight and he was travelling beautifully as they went into the turn. It was a demolition job from there as he ran away for a massive win in a flying 22.55, which was clearly the quickest of the day. Fair to say he’s come back from a spell nicely.

Snowy Jinx went into his race over the 643m trip with some good form and found an easier field than what he had been competing against. He jumped well from box three but was outpaced early and midfield. He had to deal with some bumping but was good enough to deal with it and keep his balance. After spotting the leader 10 lengths up the back straight, the super strong dog was able to start winding through his gears and was quickly making a dent in the margin. With the margin still 8 lengths at the start of the turn, he made a rapid move and before long, he levelled up to the leader and went past, winning by 2 lengths in 37.89! It was a breathtaking win and showed his staying prowess.

Friday

Tim Richards has been making a few trips to Gawler lately and on Friday he saw some fantastic reward for his efforts, with a brilliant four winners on the card. Two Hands George started things off with a strong 37.82 win over the 643m trip before the improving Silk Sonic made it two with his 22.85 victory over the short trip. Time After Time then won a few races late over the 531m journey with a gutsy 31.05 effort before the old boy in Crush Your Enemy completed the 4fa. It was a flying start from the black dog that set up a clear midrace lead and once in front he was never losing. He ran away for a quick 22.71 win. A brilliant day for Tim who is clearly doing a great job with his dogs at the moment.

Zipping Highland was at his brilliant best on Friday, with a powerful win out of box one from the 531m boxes. He left the boxes fairly but was able to get some clear running early and position up in a handy enough spot. Up the back straight, he made a fantastic move and surged to the front before the turn. It was all over from there as he stormed away for a big win in a fast 30.74. He’s generally a bit awkward but that was a much improved run and a sign that he might have worked things out. His trainer Nicole Price also made it two for the day with Velocity Zaylia also winning and in rather impressive fashion, with a quick 30.75 run over the same distance.

Bec Mcauley-Fry has got her chaser Kanga Lights flying at the moment and he recorded yet another win on Friday, with a strong effort from box one over the short trip. He jumped well which allowed him to find the front early, but he was receiving a lot of pressure around him. Before the turn he looked gone with the others right on his heels, but he held his spot and stayed tough, which allowed him to make the most of a bit of luck. He ended up winning 2 lengths in a handy 22.98.

Another quality week of racing ahead with racing on Wednesday and Sunday.
