Tim Richards' nabs a Three-peat at Gawler
Tim Richards came away with three winners at Gawler last night with littermates Crush Your Enemy, Two Hands George and Butter Up Again all making the long trip worthwhile for the South-East trainer.
Tim’s first winner of the night was Butter Up Again, who came into box 1 and carved her way around the course in 31.43s notching up her first win at the track in the second race of the night. Two Hands George was next up jumping from box one in race ten, and he made it over the line just a tad quicker than his litter sister by finishing in 31.13s, making it his fourth win in a row at the track. Crush Your Enemy then sent Tim home a winner leading all the way to a great 31.22 second win and giving Tim a 100% strike-rate for the night!

The three of them were able to lead the entire race with impressive first sectionals which will undoubtedly give punter’s confidence enough to back them again. ‘It wasn’t the first City A grade race I’ve won, but it was really good to get the wins with this young litter,’ Tim said.
Butter Up Again was the surprise packet of the night starting with odds of $9.60 as first reserve before winning by a length, ‘When Butter Up Again got box 1, I thought she was a chance. The other two (Crush Your Enemy and Two Hands George) have been pretty reasonable but it goes to show that she’s a pretty handy dog too.’

Race 12 saw Crush Your Enemy just get over the line, with Tim thinking this was a lucky victory with his chaser running wide on the home straight. ‘He jumped and stayed ahead but did everything he could to lose!’ In a hectic finish, Crush Your Enemy just managed to keep the lead from Indeed who was breathing down his neck.
‘I bred this litter, so it’s pretty rewarding seeing them win.’ said Tim, with all three greyhounds from the Aston Dee Bee and Molly Be Nimble litter which also produced star chaser Jack’s Well, who ran last night at Gawler himself, finishing 4th in the second semi-final of the Gawler Produce Series.
Tim got started in greyhound racing after a mate started training and has been a trainer himself since 2016. ‘We bought a dog and I got on the bandwagon!’
It doesn’t look like the rewarding wins will be slowing down any time soon for Tim after a three-peat like this with this talented litter.
