Token Prince x Cuddles Lee - Kathy Johnstone

(4 dogs, 3 bitches)

Fascinating combination this, with Token Prince getting the nod to be the first soulmate for Cuddles! Mum only finished racing in April this year and had a wonderful career with 15 wins from 91 starts. Cuddles Lee’s litter won a stack of races, with brilliant box manners and early speed. Cuddles was one of the stronger ones and was able to win at Angle Park over 500.

“Well firstly Cuddles is the first to come on season, we will also breed from Cutie Lee as well with Sweet Lee in GAP. Cuddles was the strongest over 500 from the litter and had a great back end on her.” - Kathy Johnstone

“We’ve had a Token Prince straw just sitting on ice for 20 years so we thought we better use it. He was a great race dog but a champion sire, his bitches that he had also threw. He also put strength into his dogs and threw some distance dogs.”

“We are only thinking of keeping a couple, I don’t care which ones they are. They are so much fun, they just keep running around! We are open to genuine offers, I don’t know what price to put on them.”

Fabregas x Springvale Vixen - Gavin Harris

(4 bitches)

Whenever Gavin does a mating you can generally expect they turn out alright! It feels like yesterday that I saw Springvale Vixen going around the track. She raced solely in SA and had fast times to her name including a 29.86 at Angle Park and 25.61 at Murray Bridge. Vixen is out of She’s A Looper who has thrown some cracking types including Craggy Island and Stebonheath Lad. Vixen’s own litter was a ripper with some really handy dogs in it including Springvale Ortiz, He’s All Ours, Ballantrae and Circus Maximus.

“Fabregas and the Little Looper line has been a good mix and she’s down from Little Looper. Fabregal was probably the best of the Little Looper line and obviously I’ve been reasonably happy with Shine and Slick (Springvale) and Thunder On was good.” - Gavin Harris

“We always wanted to breed from her because she’s down from She’s A Looper, which is Worm Burner’s sister. She’s A Looper was actually faster than Worm Burner but never showed it with a heap of minor injuries.”

“She was pretty good for her first whelping. I was happy with the 4 bitches because I like bitches anyway, but would have liked a dog or two.”

“Stewy (Barber) will rear them so he will probably buy one, I might sell one but I’m not sure at this stage.”

Fernando Bale x West On Tia - Tim Aloisi

(1 bitch)

An exciting mating this, with mum having a very successful career on the track. She was a genuine FFA stayer that spent most of her career in W.A before coming to SA. She won 9 from 65 and notched up $53,000 in prize money. Her mum, Tearsabout Tears threw the rockstar that was Black Bombshell and he won $138,000. West On Tia comes from a litter of three and was a clear standout. Unfortunately for Timmy she only had the 1 bitch but who knows, she might be a star!

“She looked like she would be a handy bitch but we bought her with the intention to breed from her once she retired.” - Tim Aloisi

“When we bought her we always had the intention to go to Fernando (Bale). Her to Fernando is a replica of Tornado Tears, as close as you can get.”

“We had the first litter with her just to see what she was like as a mum and what her pups were like. We put her to Mepunga Blazer and she was a good mum, the pups are really nice. They are 12 or 13 months old now.”

“Nah, we won't sell her!”

Dyna Double One x Lektra Rainbow - Noel Perry

(1 Dog, 1 Bitch)

Mum was a handy Victorian sprinter that won 10 from 72 and amassed $26,000 in prize money. She won at the Meadows and clocked some nice times around the country circuits including a 25.41 at Ballarat and 24.19 at Bendigo. It will be her first litter and the ‘Lektra’ line has thrown some nice types so these two will have a bit of interest about them.

“We got her on a loan from Philip Lenehan with a pup deal but we didn’t have as many as we would have liked! She won at Meadows and was a reasonable bitch so that’s why we wanted to breed from her.” - Noel Perry

“I had been to Dyna Double One before and had completely missed it so I thought I would give it another go but it wasn’t much better!”

“These won’t be for sale, I had buyers for three! But that’s the way it goes.”
