Team Pidgeon soars with treble at Murray Bridge
Friday (One-Turn)
Me Same You continued his dominance over the 680m journey at Murray Bridge, with yet another victory on Friday, taking his career record to 19 wins from 64 starts.
Starting second favourite from box seven, with Kruger Lass the clear favourite in the race, the early speed of Me Same You proved vital as he barged over to a clear lead.
With a handy buffer down the back straight, he travelled well and despite the others having their chance to close the gap, he just kept on going. The end result was a comprehensive four length win in 39.11 and he just seems unbeatable at the Bridge right now!
The electric Victa Tara took out the grade 6 final over the 455m trip, with her customary early pace proving far too much for the others to handle.
From box eight, she came out quickly and worked her way to the lead, before they went into the turn. With a two-length lead turning for home, she appeared somewhat vulnerable, but to her credit, she kept on grinding home before winning by a length in a tidy 25.74.
Her trainer Tony Rasmussen also had another winner in the form of Cawbourne Dash, who showed her true strength over the 455m trip. Despite being last away from box four, she showed good mid-race pace to get close enough to the lead going into the turn, before wearing down the leader in the straight and winning in 25.87.
Dog to follow: Fantastic Felix - It’s been an amazing effort just to get back to the track for this dog after sustaining a serious tendon injury to his back leg. He was third up on Friday and ran an excellent race, storming home and nearly winning over the 455m trip. That run suggests that he’s close to his best and you would think that he will be winning very soon!

Tuesday (Straight track)
The Pidgeon team of Gary and Michaela teamed up for a terrific afternoon up the Murray Bridge Straight, combining for three winners from the team they brought up.
The talented Spirit Lady kicked off the afternoon, making full use of box one from the short 300m distance. A quick beginning allowed her to balance up in front and despite a strong mid-race challenge, she was too good and held on for a narrow 17.06 win, which made it four wins from her first six career starts!
Silhouette then broke through for her maiden victory at start three, in the very next race. Despite drawing poorly with box eight, she jumped well to offset it, finding herself a narrow leader early. Much like Spirit Lady in the first, she was challenged strongly, but just kept on repelling the challenge to win in 17.42.
Know Your Circle finished off the treble for the team, winning in impressive fashion over the 300m trip, toppling a handy grade 6 field in a slick 16.81. A great day for the team who have been having plenty of success in recent times up the straight track!
Mr. Zing Zang had his first start since joining the care of Wally Harkins and from box six over 300m, he made it a winning start, with an excellent victory. He’s always shown ability, however box manners have let him down at times, but they were at their best on Tuesday, which saw him come out in 4.46 first split and find the front. After being challenged midrace and headed, he showed his class and fought back late, running away in 16.88. If he can maintain those box manners, then Wally will be winning a few more with him!
Dog to follow: Calypso Queen - Ran well on Tuesday over the 300m trip. She showed great midrace speed from a wide draw, before getting outgunned late in handy time. It was one her best runs since coming to the state and in the right race she will be winning soon.
