In the aftermath of the January bushfires that ripped through the Adelaide Hills, a group of friends travelled to the area and spent a few days helping to rebuild fencing and lending a hand at trainer Graham Smith’s Woodside property.

The group hadn’t met Graham beforehand so as they got to know his story and learned of his kind, ‘ripping nature’, they got an idea! The group decided, as they helped rebuild the greyhound runs over the next couple days, they would throw around the hat for money and buy a greyhound which Graham would train for their newly formed Harrison Road Syndicate.

The greyhound they bought is ‘Sesh Gremlin’ and he managed to get his maiden win in race 2 of yesterday’s Murray Bridge Straight Track meeting for the new syndicate.

"It is great to get a syndicate started, especially with Graham who is a ripper bloke. Even better we got a win with only his fourth start!" Shane Robinson, Harrison Road Syndication Manager explained.

After only a steady start, Sesh Gremlin quickly found his stride and powered down the 300m distance to win by 2.5 lengths, showing why he was the short priced favourite in the race.

“The Harrison Road Syndicate are a really good bunch of lads. I am really thankful for them coming and helping out at my property after the bushfires, without knowing me from a bar of soap. It is great to firstly get them involved in the sport and for them to get this first win!.” Graham Smith said of the win.

After that strong performance, the Harrison Road Syndicate will be looking forward to future success with Sesh Gremlin and hopefully more dogs in the future!
