Greyhound racing will continue in South Australia, with further restrictions to race-days to ensure that our participants and greyhounds are able to continue their racing operations, in the safest manner possible. GRSA will continue to be guided by both the state and federal governments on this matter, understanding that the current COVID-19 situation is unprecedented and is a constantly evolving matter.

We continue to prioritise the health of our participants, their families and the general community, stricter race-day regulations have been put in place, which include no access to the general public. GRSA are taking all measures to ensure the safe continuation of racing – the health and wellbeing of our participants and staff is our #1 priority in this unprecedented situation.

Persons allowed on course are:

  • licenced trainers and catchers who have greyhounds engaged at the race meeting
  • Essential staff

Please note:

  • that no owners or children are allowed on-course
  • All on-course catering has been stopped, including any beverage sales.
  • Public-spacing for licenced trainers, catchers and staff must be adhered to at all times and will be enforced by GRSA stewards and staff
  • No interstate trainers are allowed to race in South Australia from Tuesday at 4pm, in line with government restrictions on interstate travel
  • Kennelling time will be extended for all meets to 1 hour and 15 minutes. GRSA encourages participants to arrive at race meetings earlier, to spread the arrival of trainers and prevent a bottleneck

As always, we urge our industry to continue do the right thing by your family and industry – if you feel unwell or have a temperature please do not come to the track and contact a doctor immediately. Visit SA Health to stay across any updates.
