SA chasers set for Brisbane Cup tilt
Star South Australian chaser Victa Damian will be back in action on Thursday night in the heats of the Brisbane Cup at Albion Park.
Victa Damian will be joined by Victa Alby and Victa Marli with the three Rasmussen runners hoping to continue their success after all three made the final of the Group 2 Flying Amy.
It wont be an easy task with a top quality field assembling for seven heats of the Group 1 event with a total prize pool of $1 million on offer for the final.
Victa Marli will be the first to hit the track in race nine and has drawn box five in its heat which includes New Zealand star Postman Pat who won a Brisbane Cup prelude last week in 29.39.
Victa Alby will follow in race 10 and is drawn in box six in a heat which includes West Australian chaser Elite Machine and Queenslander Hara’s Herbie.
Rounding out the South Australian contingent, Victa Damian will jump from box six but has a vacant box to his inside with the scratching of Magical Cyndie.
He will still have plenty of stiff competition on his outside with the speed of Rejuvenate (box seven) and Umberto (box eight) set to pose the biggest threat to Victa Damian.
As well as sports in the final, there will also be two consolation events next week as part of the series with $112,000 for the ‘Orchestrate’ Brisbane Cup Consolation and $45,000 for the Tony Brett Brisbane Cup Consolation.
The final will be held next Friday, July 7th at Albion Park.
