Ten races were put together for the traditional Sunday Night race meeting at Gawler last week. One of the main highlights was popular trainer Daniella Madalinski returning to the winners list with her greyhound Right Way. Right Way met a very even field on Sunday Night, but he managed to jump out quite well from box number two. He lobbed into second position during the run and he ran home strong on the home turn when he worked to the front. He extended on his lead down the home straight to run a time of 23.13 over the 400 meters. That was Right Way’s first win since May and his fourth career win overall from fourteen starts.

Trainer Ray Murray continued his strong form with another double on Sunday Night. He claimed race four when his Greyhound Svitolina bounced out from box number one and led all of the way for a two-length victory over the 400 meters. Murray would strike again later in the night in race eight. This time it would be his talented young chaser Hey Grace having her first look at the longer distance of 531 meters and winning convincingly. She ran a time of 31.29 and made it win number three from eleven career starts.

Clint Trengove also continued his strong form with a double on Sunday Night. He started off his night perfectly when his young promising Gypsy Boy took out the Open Maiden Series Final. Gypsy Boy led all of the way and ran a time of 23.08. In race five Its Smudgy made it career win number 15 and led all of the way for Trengove. She is a very hard greyhound to pass when she hits the lead and she proved that again on Sunday night when she ran a time of 22.81 over the 400 meters.

Racing returns to Gawler on Wednesday afternoon and Sunday night this week. With the spring weather starting to appear make sure you head out to the track soon to enjoy a night of action-packed greyhound racing.
