Ready for Another Impact at the 680m
Oakvale Impact is gearing up for a big race tonight at Murray Bridge after his win in the Bayroad Queen Stayer’s Cup heats last night at Murray Bridge.
Trained by Nathan Wilson, Vice-President of Murray Bridge Greyhound Racing Club, Oakvale Impact is currently on a roll, having won his last 2 races over the 680m. In his heat, Oakvale Impact exploded out from Box 4 and ran the fastest time of the 2 heats with a blazing 39.23, running hard to win by 2.25 lengths
“We are hoping that he goes really well tonight, though he has drawn a wide box. He has been going as well as we could’ve hoped for. He’s always been consistent and placed, but now that he has stepped up, he has really found his distance,” Nathan stated.
Oakvale Impact has placed in last 7 runs since going up to 600m+ distances, proving his potential as a great stayer in the making and is the current holder of the fastest time recorded over the newly installed 680m distance at 39.06 but looks to have the potential to go a lot faster than he did last week. “He likes to bolt at the end so he has been looking for the extra distance and now he is becoming a great stayer,” Nathan commented.

Nathan and wife Kerri, who live at Pinnaroo, close to the Victorian border, a mere 2 hours away from Murray Bridge, are no strangers to success with an ‘Oakvale’ greyhound after having great success breeding and racing their own dogs including Melbourne Cup finalist Oakvale Beauty and Oakvale Impact certainly looks like taking the next step in tonight’s feature.
