Rasmussen team in for a big few weeks interstate
The Tony and Lisa Rasmussen combination will again cross the border to the Garden State and take on the best greyhounds in the country at the Meadows on this Saturday night (17th February). After Honcho Monelli won and Nangar Bear and Ashom Monelli ran placings last week they are hopeful for more success this week.
What a great night it will be at the Meadows with the running of the Group 1 Temlee, Group 1 Zoom Top and Group 1 Rookie Rebel. There will also be five Australian Cup preludes with the Rasmussen team having a strong hand. Nagar Bear will be engaged in the first prelude which will be race 2 no 6 due to be run at 7.08pm (SA time) while Lachlan Monelli is in the third prelude drawing box 4 in race 4 at 7.45pm (SA time). Yesterday the Meadows released a list of 56 greyhounds who were seeded directly into heats of the $550,000 Group 1 Australian Cup – to be held on February 24 with both Hukanui and Honcho Monelli amongst the 56 meaning they have direct passage next week. They will compete in the last race on the program Saturday night and have drawn boxes 6 and 7 respectively due to be run at 10.37 (SA time). They also have Ashom Monelli engaged in a 600m event and he has drawn perfectly in box 1 in race 11 due to jump at 10.15pm (SA time).
We wish them the best of luck over the next few weeks.
