Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA) and Little Heroes Foundation (LHF) have been teaming up for the last 12 months, with some big wins both on and off the track.

In the last 12 months Greyhound Racing SA has donated $32,000 to LHF through a variety of different avenues. One of those avenues is the Hounds for Heroes program where $1,000 is donated the charity for each pet greyhound that is fostered by a Little Heroes Foundation supporter as part of the Greyhound Adoption Program.

Little Heroes Foundation is a South Australian charity that supports seriously ill children and their families. Over the past 20 years the charity has contributed over $20 million for lifesaving facilities at Adelaide’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital to families in need.

“The Hounds for Heroes program has continued to be a great initiative that allows individuals to help a retired greyhound on its transition to life as a pet after racing, while being able to support the Little Heroes Foundation.” GRSA CEO, Matt Corby observes.

“We are committed to giving back to the community and we thoroughly enjoy our charity partnership with Little Heroes Foundation who do excellent work helping seriously ill South Australian children.”

LHF has recently announced a new direction with a focus on supporting children with mental health issues and will be working on this initiative with Breakthrough Foundation in primary schools around the state.

“It is alarming that 1 in 5 children struggle in the mental health space.” LHF Chris McDermott explains.

“The partnership between Greyhound Racing SA and Little Heroes Foundation has allowed us to continue helping South Australian kids in need. GRSA’s $10,000 donation is invaluable.”
