 GREYHOUND OF THE MONTH – DECEMBER

Greyhound of the month for December was Punishment for trainer Carole Scott. Punishment had a terrific month of racing winning two of his four starts with 2 placing’s highlighted by his brilliant performance in the Doug Payne Feature.

 

The locally bred son of Collision and Madam Lash started the month of with a solid win at headquarters in a handy 30.10 before just being run down at his next start. He then took on a quality field of SA Bred sprinters in the Doug Payne Feature where he drew box 2. He showed good speed to punch through and lead on the first turn and from there was too hard to catch for his rivals going on to record a personal best 29.80 for the 515m journey in winning by 1 length. He ran third at his last run in December after finding trouble and at the end of the month his career record stood at 33 starts with 16 wins and 11 placing’s, with earnings around $28,000.

 

RUN OF THE MONTH – DECEMBER

Run of the month for December was Luna Jinx for trainer Gavin Harris. The daughter of Velocette and Hannah’s Jinx showed her exceptional staying ability with a win on 11th December at Angle Park over 731m. She was having her first run back in almost 5 months and was average away from box 7. She was gradually able to find the rails before she then started to make ground on her rivals. She exploded to the front off the back straight and from there raced away from her challengers to win by almost 11 lengths in a brilliant 43.07.
