Successful trainer Michael Giniotis had a big night at the Gawler Greyhounds on Sunday night. Giniotis only had three greyhounds engaged in the meeting but two of them managed to score victories. There was only two races held over the 531 meter distance on Sunday night and both of them were won by Giniotis. In race ten we saw talented youngster Snowy Jinx go around after securing his first career win the week before. Snowy Jinx jumped from the boxes fairly but did his best work over the last 200 meters of the race when he stormed home to win by a length and three quarters. He showed on Sunday night that he is a nice strong greyhound who can run well over the longer distance. Sunday night was win number two from four career starts for Snowy Jinx and he also provided Giniotis with his first win of the night.

Giniotis got his second winner of the night when Mai Tai Focus took out race eleven and captured her fifth career win. She had run placings 4 out of her last 5 starts before Sunday night’s win. It was her first win since May of this year so it was good to see her score a well deserved win after performing consistently well over the last few weeks. Michael Giniotis only has a small number of race dogs at the moment but his team of greyhounds are definitely racing in some very good form.

The Trengove family also had a very successful night out on Sunday. Jack Trengove was the first family member to strike when his greyhound Hiring returned to the winners list and ran a solid time of 22.91 over the 400 meters. Harry Trengove was the next family member to score a winner when his greyhound That’s A Problem stormed home to defeat Cawbourne Chew and run a time of 23.45. Harry has now scored two wins with That’s A Problem. Clint Trengove then finished off the night for the family when For Five Seconds led all of the way and ran a time of 23.05.

Racing returns to the Gawler track this week on Wednesday afternoon and Sunday night. Make sure you head out to the track when you get a chance too and enjoy a quality meal while overlooking the race track at the Nixon’s Function Centre.
