Cairnlea Layla, owned by a syndicate including Ken Hinkley, Ollie Wines and John Butcher from Port Power jumped well from box 7 and found the lead early in Race 1 last Thursday night at Angle Park. In a race that would almost mirror Ports big win on Sunday against Geelong, the Robyn Mackellar trained Cairnlea Layla was too strong for her opposition in the last half of the race, pulling away to win by 7 lengths in a smart time of 29.53, recording her 6th win from only 9 starts at Angle Park after transferring from Victoria where she started her racing career at Geelong. Cairnlea Layla is a fawn bitch from Mogambo out of Della Bale and it is great to see some of the owners take time out of their busy schedules to support her runs at Angle Park, it is an even sweater weekend for the owners when they win both on the track and on the field.
