Port Augusta Cancelled on Saturday due to heat
PORT AUGUSTA CANCELLED DUE TO EXTREME HEAT FORECAST THIS WEEKEND
At 5.00pm today the forecast temperature was updated for the Port Augusta area with 41 degrees forecast for Saturday 7th January. GRSA had a Non TAB meeting programmed on this day. The forecast leading up to Saturday is also extreme with Thursday 40 degrees and Friday 41 degrees. Whilst nominations closed today GRSA did not draw the race meeting pending a further weather update this afternoon. GRSA has enforced the Hot Weather Policy with extreme heat forecast in the region for an extended period and cancelled the Non Tab meeting at Port meeting allowing trainers the opportunity to nominate for other race meetings.
GRSA will work with the Club in reprogramming this meeting at a later date.
