NOTIFICATION OF REPORTED PARVOVIRUS CASE
NOTIFICATION OF REPORTED PARVOVIRUS CASE IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA
On 21 June 2021, GRSA received notification of one reported case of parvovirus in a greyhound. GRSA are investigating the circumstances of this case, including tracing.
At this time, there is no cause for alarm. However, if you had a greyhound at Murray Bridge on 16 June 2021, GRSA recommend that you be alert to any signs/symptoms of illness that might be parvovirus, and seek veterinary assistance (call before you attend) as well as notify GRSA.
As a routine response, GRSA quarantine the affected kennel, require a negative parvovirus test before allowing the affected greyhound to attend any facility, and stand-down the greyhound for 28-days.
