Tuesday (Straight Track)

We had 10 races last Tuesday up the straight and it proved to be a complete show of dominance from Nicole Price, who had four of the winners. She had them well placed and it showed. Impulsive was her first, winning in 16.86 ahead of the kennelmate Selmo, before Audacity won the next race in a sharp 16.74. A few races later, she was able to win another two, back to back, with Patched and Enthusiastic both flying up the straight and winning comfortably in their respective races. Patched was a flying BOD, with his 16.37 run. Well done to Nicole, she has got the team going nicely.

Ben Rawlings had to wait all day, but took out the last two races of the day to make it an enjoyable trip up. I’m Gifted Too continued her terrific run of form, before a kennel debutant in Cut The Line raised some eyes, winning in a BOD 19.02. Cut The Line brings some ripping Northern Rivers form in NSW, so it will be interesting to see how he measures up over here.

Brenda Oakey made her first trip up to the Murray Bridge Straight and walked away with a winner. Dolly Quakko had drawn ordinary in box five, but brought some handy Gawler form with her. The box proved no hindrance however, as she fired out on the arm and never looked like losing, breaking her maiden in a handy 17.14.

Dog to follow: Impeached - Came back to the straight track for the first time since his debut and he proved to be something beat. After drawing poorly in box six, he got the start wrong before finding a bit of trouble midrace. The run home was terrific as he got to the fence and was storming late, but ran out of time. If he comes back for a crack at the 350m trip, he will be an absolute bird.

Sunday (1-Turn)

It was a cold and windy night but we were treated to a strong 12 race card.

Ben Rawlings had a big night, taking home three winners, with all of them winning in mighty impressive fashion. Winner’s Win took out the first race of the meeting, winning in a quick 29.83 over the 530m trip. The kennel star in Mr. Ticket used plenty of smarts on route to his four length victory over the short trip, before Yankee Constanza put up an enormous performance to take out the grade 6 final, running down the promising Queen Of Scotch with a level of arrogance. Well done to Ben, who has been having some consistent success at the Bridge recently.

One of the performances of the night went to the Troy Murray trained Shall Not, who went like a learjet over the 455m trip, running an electric 7.92-25.22. He took a few strides to get going from box 6, but got moving after that and burnt off the field very easily. He’s a dog that’s always shown a stack of pace, and slowly he is starting to get stronger over the longer journeys. His time was also quite easily the BON.

Spring Honour was able to break his maiden on the night for Greg Board, with the White and Brindle chaser saluting nicely 22.59 over the 395m trip. It was a classy display as he had to boot up from box 1 to hold his spot, but once he did then he roared away for the comfortable victory. Hopefully Greg is doing well and Spring Honour can put a couple together now!

Dog to follow: Funambulist - She’s in really good touch at the moment and again on Sunday night she ran a cracker. Just a very honest bitch who can cope with any box draw with her mix of speed and strength.
