Racing was again held at Angle Park last week, as the Gawler track had to be prepared for use after the Gawler Show.
At Angle Park on Wednesday, a greyhound named after Crows star Patrick Dangerfield led most of the way out of box 5 to score a strong win. Named Danger Three Two, which of course is “Danger’s” jumper number, the white and black dog won in the good time of 22.77 secs over the 388m journey by a margin of just over 2 lengths. Second was Lektra Ninja (2) for Wendy Matcott and running third was Agent Of Change (8) for Kevin Bewley.
Danger Two Three is trained at Two Wells by Karen Bearpark, the 2013 Leading Trainer, for well known breeder and owner, Ben Murphy. Like his footballer namesake, “Danger” is beginning his career with success, winning 2 and running 2 placings from just 8 starts.
Now that the Show commitments are over, racing at Gawler has resumed with a weekly Tuesday afternoon and Sunday twilight schedule.
