With the 2023 TAB Adelaide Cup on Friday night at Angle Park, Murray Bridge took centre stage on Thursday night with a marquee race meeting on Thursday night.

The 12-race card saw several fantastic performances and provided a great lead in to the Adelaide Cup on Friday evening with three trainers also recording doubles on the evening.

Dave Peckham made the long trek to the Bridge worthwhile with his double beginning in race two with Classy Shot breaking its maiden over the 395m trip.

Despite being drawn awkwardly in box four, it was able to sit second behind the speed before shuffling to third spot as it pushed wide on the turn before powering home over the top to win in 22.85.

Federal Flash completed the double for Peckham in the final race on the card winning from a box four draw thanks to a blistering first split.

Federal Flash powered to the front and enjoyed clear running out in front as it saluted in a best of the night time of 22.18 over the 395m trip.

Tony Nobes also collected a double on the Thursday night card, with a pair of nice winners over the 395m trip.

The first was Kilcoy Castle in race five who pulled off a nice win from box seven in slick time of 22.41 before Dazzling Cruiser completed the double with a narrow win from box two holding off the fast-finishing Lochinvar Cahill in the tenth race of the night.

Tracie Price was the other trainer to have a double on the card with a pair of nice winners including Cashed Up Johnny who saluted by two lengths in 25.72 over the 455m trip.
