Tuesday (Straight Track)

Greg Board had a good day at the Murray Bridge Straight last Tuesday by taking home two winners from the two dogs he took to the track. Spring Zoe was the first one and she was able to offset box five quite easily, jumping well and putting away the field comfortably in a slick 16.67. Spring Cocktail made it five wins straight as he won in a classy display from box one in 16.61. A great day for Greg who has a really nice team of youngsters at the moment.

Neangar Boy broke through for another much deserved win, narrowly scoring over the 350m trip in front of the kennel mate - Aston Cade. Neangar Boy used box eight to find the front behind just hanging on in the thriller. He was the second of Matty Payne’s winners for the day, with Aston Carlos taking out the fast class race of the day from box eight. He has been terrific since returning and the 16.49 gallop suggests he has potentially come back better than last time!

Marty Doyle has got his team humming at the moment and on Tuesday he had Makani Girl win over the 350m trip with a 19.24 effort. It was a tough win as she had to sit outside of the dog beneath her, but she was too strong late. You can keep following Marty’s dogs with plenty of confidence right now!

Dog to follow: French For Bread - Won really impressively to break his maiden and his second run on Tuesday behind Spring Cocktail was terrific. He may well be quite a handy straight dog and I will happily keep following him.

Friday (1-Turn)

Marty Doyle continued his ripping form on Friday with a perfect two winners from two dogs. Testarossa Boy was the first and it was quite a classy display. He had to work around the early leader before showing some real strength late to win comfortably in 22.33. Makani Girl was the second winner as she defeated a relatively strong grade 6 field over the 455m trip. She was led early by Miers who set up a massive lead, but Makani Girl just kept grinding away before nailing Miers on the line. Well done to Marty!

Tony Rasmussen had two winners for the card as well with Queen Of Scotch and Lot Of Poise both winning very nicely. Queen Of Scotch continued the ripping start to her career, by winning very nicely from box eight. She had to show some smarts as she was stuck wide early, but handled it well before scooting around and running away in 22.42. Lot Of Poise landed a lot closer in the grade 6 final over 455m, and when he did that he looked a huge danger. Around the turn he took over and ran away in a tidy 25.51.

Fly For Trix was enormous on Friday, winning super impressively. He was second favourite behind Danyo’s Charlie, but once he led he never looked in any danger, running flying splits. Danyo’s Charlie tried hard behind but Fly For Trix was far too quick, winning in a super 25.24, which was also BOD for the 455m trip. He turns four in November, but I think he is close to career best form!

Dog to follow: Val Ali - Racing well at the moment but just struggling to notch up another win. She is keen to find the fence so the wide draws aren’t helping. If she draws well then she will win one shortly.
