Lindsay’s Gone From Silly To Cranky

It’s now been more than four years since the Koroit-based Many Winners Syndicate’s trip to Bendigo for the Ready 2 Race sale resulted in the purchase of a bitch called Sisco Sizzle for $4500.
And while she covered costs, winning four races at Warrnambool and running six minor placings from 20 starts for stakemoney of $6645, it’s been as a producer that she has really come into her own.
After the Peter Keane trained pair of Nanda Sizzle and Me Silly was successful at Tara Raceway last Thursday it was a case of Sisco Sizzle having now produced 48 winners for close to $90,000 in stakemoney from her first litter by Fernando Bale.
Nanda Sizzle, owned by Karyn Nicholas, led all the way in the Greg Martlew Autos Stake (400 metres) when running out a 3½ lengths winner over Dashing Pedro in 23.24 seconds.
Me Silly, raced by Lindsay Brookes who is a member of the Many Winners Syndicate along with Keane, Bev Keane, Gary Thomson and Graham Dix, took over the lead off the back before going on to a 1½ lengths win in 23.32 seconds in the Winmore Greyhound Kennels Stake (400 m).
Sisco Sizzle whelped a second litter in March 2019, this time to Thirty Talks. Brookes now has high hopes for a brindle dog that he purchased. Keeping to the theme, his racing name is Gone Cranky.
And in a bid to hopefully ensure many winners continue to come for some time yet for the Many Winners Syndicate, Sisco Sizzle has a third litter following – by Zambora Brockie.

Former Victorian trainer Bec Romyn, now based at Lewiston, raced for the first time at Tara Raceway where Stareena turned in a solid performance to win the Bourne Kennels Stake (512 m).
Away only fairly away from box five, Stareena took the lead turning for home after railing throughout and holding out Cash Storm for a 1¾ lengths win in 30.14 seconds.
Having her first SA start, last Thursday’s win was the Di Ireland owned black bitch’s first in 12 months after four previous wins from 35 starts in Victoria.
Handling the daughter of Kinloch Brae x Esperza was Romyn’s 19-year-old daughter Ashlee Griffiths, at Tara Raceway for the first time and hopeful of returning in a fortnight’s time.
Stareen is a younger half-sister to the David Peckham trained Stevick (by My Bro Fabio), a winner of his only two starts at Tara Raceway.
Training honours for the day went the way of another Lewiston trainer in Scott Feltus who was successful with Rosie’s Angel, Tayah’s Express and Rebellious Nick, the treble giving him his fifth winner at the track this year.
Second early, Rosie’s Angel, who won her maiden at Tara Raceway last month, took the lead off the back and held out Wee Fishin’ to win by a half length in 23.51 seconds in the Progreyhoundtips.com Stake (400 m).
Tayah’s Express led all the way in the Metal Worx Stake (400 m). However, they were coming from everywhere in the home straight, the winner holding out kennelmate Starlight Meg to win by a neck in 23.54 seconds.

Bungaloo Erin and Lucky Larry opened their winning accounts, the former leading all the way in the Gordon Refrigeration Stake (400 m) for the Liz Newberry-managed Bungaloo Syndicate and trainer John Little of Kongorong.
By Pure Titanium out of Bungaloo Sunset, one of the first greyhounds Little trained, Bungaloo Erin is the third of the June 2019 litter to have now won.
Loping Lucky Larry at start number 13 did the job well when quickly finding the front in the Greyhound-Data.com Stake (400 m) before running out a 3¾ lengths winner over kennelmate Compton Lucy in 23.46 seconds.
Raced by Ben Price and trained by his father Tracie at Compton, Lucky Larry is by Peter Rocket out of Stylish Moment, the litter also including Sally Limes, winner of December’s Peter Whitehead Maiden Memorial at Tara Raceway.
