Tuesday afternoon greyhound racing came to Gawler last week with a ten race program. It’s been a while since popular Finnis trainer Lauren Harris has made the trip to Gawler but her return on Tuesday was definitely successful. Lauren and her partner Ryan Tugwell had five runners engaged in the meeting. Lauren kicked off her day in race four with Danyo’s Clint. He jumped really well from box four and led all of the way to run a time of 23.35. That was also his third win since returning from a five month spell back in early October.

Lauren trained the race favourite in race five which was the in form Allinga Road who has registered the 17 wins from 39 career starts. He led all of the way in race five to secure his seventeenth win and he ran a time of 23.04 in the process. Lauren’s last runner of the day was Bidgee Boy in race six. He wasn’t the best away but he showed plenty of pace in the middle stages of the race and ended up winning by a neck. He produced a time of 23.06. That win concluded a very successful day for Lauren Harris.

The last four races of the day were over the 531 meter journey. Hot Rocks made it two wins from his last three starts in race seven for trainer Vadim Roz. Ros’s Sapphire scored her first win over 531 meters for trainer Bob Isaacson. The race favourite Uno Shelby led all of the way to win race nine for trainer Kiah Hurley. Love And Rain took out the last race for Yvonne Maxwell. That was her second win in a row and her first win from the 531 boxes at Gawler.

Greyhound racing returns to Gawler this week after a small break for The Gawler Show. There will be a twelve race program on Wednesday afternoon followed by more racing on Sunday Night.
