Job Ad: Board Director - Greyhound Experience
Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA) was established in October 2000 as the controlling body for greyhound racing in South Australia. GRSA is overseen by a predominantly independent Board and greyhound racing in SA has performed at a consistently high level over many years. The company was established with a primary objective of providing for the sport to be managed in a responsible and ethical manner. Other objects set out in the GRSA Constitution, include the regulation, promotion and conduct of the sport and the pursuit of financial sustainability for participants by increasing returns to greyhound owners, breeders and trainers.
More than 400 greyhound race meetings will typically be conducted annually at venues across metropolitan and regional SA. In a complex environment, GRSA has continued to drive growth opportunities within the sport and be recognised as a national leader within its industry.
Expressions of interest are sought from suitably qualified persons for the vacant position of Board Director – Greyhound Racing Experience. This Director appointment specifically seeks an individual with experience in the greyhound racing industry who may or may not be a current registered participant.
Responsibilities include: -
- Attending and making significant contributions to monthly Board meetings;
- Participating on special purpose committees;
- Providing expertise in support of the Board’s decision-making capacity;
- Identifying and developing initiatives designed to add value to the greyhound racing industry;
- Being involved in CEO recruitment and performance review processes;
- Reviewing all activities and performance of management; and
- Ensuring that decisions made reflect and align with the organisation’s Strategic Plan.
Your professional organisational, governance, problem-solving and strategic planning skills will need to be complemented by flexibility, energy and vision.
