We have seen a lot of quick times at the Gawler Greyhound Track over the last few weeks. We saw another blistering run during the ten race program on Sunday Night when 2021 SA Greyhound Of The Year Jacks Well lined up in race four. He had drawn box four for trainer Cameron Butcher and he had vacant boxes to his left and his right. His recent form heading into Sunday’s race had been solid and because of the favourable draw he would jump favourite at $1.25. Jacks Well would pounce on the early leader Beatific into the first turn. He started to put a margin on them down the back. The other greyhounds in the race did well to run but they were no match for Jack’s Well who careered away for a strong victory. His previous personal best time at Gawler was 30.65 but he completely slashed that on half on Sunday Night. His winning time was 30.40 which is flying. Trainer Cameron Butcher has him in some strong form at the moment. He is scheduled to go around again on Thursday night at Angle Park.

Matthew Payne who scored a double the week prior at Gawler scored another double this week. Zipping Raffety won over 531 meters to kick off his double and Neangar Boy would win for him as well to complete his second Gawler double in the space of seven days. Ray Murray also scored a double on Sunday Night with Air Outlaw and Air Pumbaa winning for him.

Greyhound racing was also at Gawler on Friday afternoon. Lewiston trainer Kevin Bewley had a massive day out with a treble. He started off his treble in race six when Go The Grove won from box one and ran a time of 23.10. His day of success would continue when Imperial Master would also win from box one running a time of 23.04. His third and final winner of the day occurred in race ten when Slim Sherman would lead all of the way from box six and ran a time of 22.81
