Tuesday Meeting (Straight track)
It was a big Tuesday afternoon for Tracie Price at our weekly straight track meeting, as he landed four winners for the meeting. Compton Daisy was the first of the lot, as the black bitch used the inside draw perfectly, jumping well and sticking to the rail early. It wasn’t until late in the race that she broke clear of the others, but she was too good and won in 17.13. A few races later it was time for Myall Jack to strut his stuff, with the white and black dog continuing his brilliant form, taking out his third win in his last four starts. Again from box one, but over the 350m trip, he was simply dominant, jumping to the lead early, pushing up the track and just roaring away. A convincing five length win in a best of the day 19.29. In the next race it was Wild Banker, who had box two over the 350m distance. It was a patchy start from the black bitch and she copped a couple of bumps in the run, but continued to power on. With 100m to go, she hit the front and was looking good, but just peaked on her run and started to slow. She had done enough though, winning narrowly in 19.50. The day was rounded off by Myall Ray, who made it back to back wins, getting the job done from box four over the 300m distance. He stepped half a length awkwardly, but very quickly balanced up and exploded to the early lead. He had a clear margin most of the race and ended up winning by a length in a sharp 16.86. An awesome afternoon for Tracie, who always has an imposing team of chasers.

Adrien Chevalier enjoyed a good afternoon on Tuesday, taking home a training double. Bundy Baz was rewarded for his consistently strong efforts in recent starts, making the most of box one over the 300m distance. He stepped quickly and was afforded plenty of room to work with early. It didn’t take long for him to muscle his way to the front and once he was there, he was never going to get run down. The afterburners went on late and he zoomed away from the others, winning comprehensively by four lengths in 16.91. That win made it two wins from three starts up the straight for him, so he clearly likes racing here! Shea’s Entity later made it two for the day, when he overcame box seven from the 300m start line. After jumping fairly, he was given plenty of room to move, with the entire field having a nice spacing between them. It was a terrific battle the entire way up, with no clear leader emerging,  but eventually the long strides of Shea’s Entity took over and he powered to the front, before hanging on in a thriller. A great day out for Adrien and a well deserved double!

Friday Meeting
We had good weather for our Friday afternoon meeting and it was Rob Harnas who got the ball rolling, landing a couple of early winners. Sudoku Nala (Fernando Bale x Stalenberg) broke through for her maiden victory at start five, winning from box six over the 395m distance. The fawn bitch stepped sweetly from the wide draw and stayed in the middle of the track, using the draw to perfection. Around the bend she had worked to a length lead and was looking good out in front. She was challenged at the top of the straight, but responded well and went on to win in 22.71. Two races later it was Midnight Sun who took out a sixth grade over the same distance and overcame box seven in the process.  It was an even start, but the black dog was able to show too much speed, burning to the lead before the turn. At the top of the straight, he extended his margin and booted clear, eventually stopping the clock in 22.64 and winning by three lengths.

Cameron Butcher continued his good run of things, collecting another training double for his efforts. Mallee Beauty (My Redeemer x Rosie Red) started her career in perfect fashion, winning as an odds on favourite on debut, from box four over the 395m distance. The striking brindle and white bitch flew out of the boxes in a flying 4.98 first split, going straight to the early lead, ultimately leading by three lengths into the turn. From there the margin just continued to extend, with the bitch winning in an unbelievable 21.98 and running 13.29 to the back, beating her opposition by over six lengths. A seriously scary time for a bitch having her first start and she looks to be one out of the box! That time was also the best of the day, which you just don’t see often at all from a first starter. Two races later it was Mallee Storm who did the exact same thing, winning from box four over the 395m distance. His win wasn’t so clear cut as he was bumped early and had to do some work to recover. Once he balanced up however, he really burnt hard and before he got to the turn, he had shot clear. It was race over from there, as he strolled home to win in 22.71. A great day for Cameron and there will be many eyes watching where Mallee Beauty steps out next!
