Reigning SA Greyhound of the Year Gun McBain for trainer Todd Kelly is closing in on yet another milestone in his brilliant racing career. In winning the first heat of the Grade 4 series last night he won his 36th race at Angle Park moving him into second place overall for greyhounds who have won at the venue.

He went past fellow top liner Scull Murphy who won 35 races on the Angle Park loam for trainer Bob Isaacson when he dominated 10 years ago and now has the flying Never Short in his sights who won 37 races back in the late eighties for Fred Todd. If Gun McBain can win the Grade 4 final next week he will tie with Never Short however he is racing in such good form he may go on and set a record that stands for another 30 years. Good luck to the connections in the coming weeks.
