BEN ORMSBY JOINS THE GRSA TEAM

GRSA MARKETING MANAGER APPOINTMENT

GRSA has announced the appointment of Ben Ormsby to the recently vacated position of Marketing Manager commencing this week.  Ben’s interest in the industry stems from family involvement, and his knowledge in that regard will hold him in good stead for the challenges ahead.

With greyhound racing clearly assuming second market share position behind the thoroughbreds in SA and demonstrating a consistent trend of wagering growth at the national level, GRSA is confident that this appointment marks another positive step forward for the industry.

Ben brings a strong Marketing background in the retail sector having held key roles with two of the largest retailers in Adelaide, Harris Scarfe and Radio Rentals.  In more recent years he has worked with University of SA, growing the recruitment of international students to its Health Services Division, a role that has required significant travel throughout primary markets in Asia.

His previous experience has required him to manage publications, develop end-to-end marketing campaigns, coordinate industry events of scale and oversee complex local and national marketing budgets.

Recent GRSA marketing initiatives include naming rights sponsorship of the South Australian Amateur Football League, the appointment of Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello to the role of industry ambassador and the third year renewal of Triple M’s partnership with the Adelaide Cup through the medium of the Rush Hour program hosted by Mark Ricciuto and Chris Dittmar.

The Marketing Manager role also provides vital support to the promotion of the Greyhound Adoption Program which administers the re-education and domestic placement of retired racing greyhounds.
