GRSA COVID-19 RESPONSE

CROSS BORDER TRAVEL FROM OUTSIDE A CROSS BORDER CORRIDOR

It is strongly recommended you complete the entry application as soon as possible (and before you nominate), to avoid delays associated with any pre-crossing entry conditions (e.g., 72-hour pre-crossing COVID-19 test result).

Anyone intending to travel into South Australia should follow these steps to cross the border lawfully -

(1)        Navigate to the page EntryCheckSA.

(2)        Follow the instructions and start your EntryCheckSA application (click on the EntryCheckSA button under “Completing your EntryCheckSA Application”.

(3)        In some cases, you will be referred to the page HealthCheckSA.

To apply under EntryCheckSA, you will need to -

•           Log in using your mySA GOV account.

•           If you do not have a mySA GOV account, you will need to provide and verify an email address and mobile phone number to set up an account. You may need to check your junk or spam folder.

•           Provide some personal information including date of birth, address, Medicare card details (if you have one).

•           Upload evidence of your COVID-19 vaccination (e.g., vaccination certificate).

•           Provide details of the address where you have spent, or will spend, most of your time while outside of South Australia.  (If your trip is the same day, put in the relevant greyhound racing track you are attending).

EntryCheckSA

When you complete your EntryCheckSA application, you will be assessed depending on your level of risk and advised of any entry conditions.  SA Health assesses several factors –

•           The extent of COVID-19 community transmission from your local government area; and/or,

•           The population rate of full dose vaccination.

You can read information on this at the EntryCheckSA site and Assessment of LGA Risk Level.

HealthCheckSA

After you complete an EntryCheckSA application, SA Health will assess your risk and advise of any entry conditions and requirement to use HealthCheckSA. Depending on your level of risk, you may need to complete quarantine, testing and symptom check requirements using HealthCheckSA.  If EntryCheckSA refers you to HealthCheckSA follow these steps -

1.         Once you receive your SMS, download HealthCheckSA from the App Store or Google Play.

2.         Log in using your mySA GOV account. You created your mySA GOV account when completing your EntryCheckSA application.

3.         If you do not have a mySA GOV account, you will need to create one. You will need to provide and verify a mobile phone number and an email address.

4.         Once you have logged in to HealthCheckSA using your mySA GOV account, use your Unique Identifier Code to activate your HealthCheckSA app. This is the code sent in your initial SMS and begins with ‘HQ’.

5.         Complete the HealthCheckSA steps to begin your quarantine and/or symptom checks.

MAKE SURE THAT THE EXTENT OF YOUR HEALTHCHECKSA ENTRY CONDITIONS STILL ENABLE YOU TO ATTEND A RACE MEETING.

For example, if the HealthCheckSA entry condition is that you quarantine until you receive a negative COVID-19 test, it might mean it is not practically possible to cross the border to attend a race meeting.

CROSS BORDER TRAVEL FROM INSIDE A CROSS BORDER CORRIDOR

Fully vaccinated residents of the Cross Border Community can make an application to enter South Australia using EntryCheckSA.

Approval will be granted for three months allowing Cross Border Community members to enter South Australia unrestricted.

Cross Border Community members are not required to have a pre-entry COVID-19 test if:

• they remain in the cross border corridor, or

• leave the cross border corridor for 72 hours or less.

Cross Border Community members who leave the cross border corridor on the New South Wales or Victorian side for more than 72 hours will be required to have a COVID-19 test within 24 hours of their first arrival in South Australia but are not required to make a new application to enter South Australia.

When entering South Australia Cross Border Community members may be asked to produce evidence of their residential address and vaccination status.

Existing cross border approvals will be honoured until they expire at which time a new application will be required via EntryCheck SA.
