2017 SA OAKS POSTPONED ONE WEEK

The Group 3 Coffex Coffee SA Oaks heats were to be run this Thursday night at Angle Park however with insufficient nominations to run two heats or more GRSA has postponed the series for one week.

The heats will now be conducted on Thursday 14th September and will coincide with the Group 3 BGC SA Derby heats run on the same night. Both finals are worth $25,000 to the winner ($35,000 in total) to be run on Thursday 21st September. Eligibility for both the Oaks and Derby are for greyhounds whelped on or after 1st June 2015 with Maiden greyhounds ineligible.

For Group races in South Australia it is a requirement that there are at least two heats conducted with full fields preferred. GRSA would encourage any eligible greyhound interested in competing in both series to ensure they nominate by the prescribed time. GRSA however reserves the right to conduct, postpone or cancel these series depending on nominations received.

Nominations for both the Group 3 SA Oaks and Group 3 SA Derby close with GRSA at 9.00am on Monday 11th September 2017.

Both races are perfect lead in events to the $107,500 Group 1 UBET Adelaide Cup series commencing with heats on Thursday 5th October, with the final on Friday 13th October.
