Gawler Racing Action
Calomba based trainer Paul Fagan enjoyed a double with two runners that both wore the box 8 rug, and also led the whole journey. Paul kicked off the first of his double with Hunkapapa, which won comfortably by two lengths, in 22.95 secs over the 400m distance. The second winner for Paul came in another 400m event, with Hopey Girl running a very similar 22.93 secs and also winning by two lengths.
Paul and his wife Leanne have been involved with greyhounds over many years, and are heavily involved in the Greyhound As Pets program by providing temporary accommodation for greyhounds waiting to find their new home.
Also scoring a double was Murray Bridge trainer Greg Board, whose two winners both ran handy times. The first winner was Spring Cobra, which finished powerfully to take the lead in the home straight, after being well back in the run. Recording a fast time of 30.80 secs over the 531m trip, Spring Cobra won comfortably by 3 ½ lengths. Greg’s other winner was Spring Halo, which led all the way in a 400m event, with nearly five lengths in hand. 22.61 secs.
