The Gawler Greyhound Racing Club is back up and racing following the successful refurbishment of the existing kennel house building. The much needed upgrade, which was completed in just six weeks, involved a complete refurbishment of the interior and exterior of the old kennel house structure.

The end result is a modern kennel building with the necessary changes to address the significant shortcomings of the previous structure. These changes include a much more practical layout, greater soundproofing in the external walls and the ability to regulate temperature in all conditions.

GRSA CEO Matt Corby welcomed the changes, noting the importance of the Gawler region to the sport. "The Gawler track is a key strategic facility for the SA greyhound industry and, as such, GRSA is committed to ensuring that infrastructure at the venue meets participant and community expectations."

"The old kennelhouse was clearly in need of an upgrade and GRSA is pleased that the project has been delivered on-time and on-budget with minimal interruption to our participants" he added.

GRSA's focus now turns to the patron facilities at the venue with a Federal Government funding announcement on Friday 12th July, 2013. Securing this funding will pave the way for the construction of a state-of-the-art facility for greyhound participants and patrons.
