 GAWLER GREYHOUND RACING CLUB

CLUB MANAGER (Permanent Full-Time)
Position Description
Greyhound Racing SA Limited (GRSA) is the controlling body which conducts, regulates and promotes greyhound racing throughout South Australia. The Gawler Greyhound Racing Club (GGRC) is one of four GRSA Clubs that conducts nationally broadcast greyhound race meetings, with the Club conducting approximately 104 annual race meetings on Tuesday afternoons and Sunday evenings in addition to weekly trial sessions.
GRSA and the GGRC are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to manage and grow activity at the newly redeveloped Club facilities. This challenging role is responsible for the conduct of greyhound racing at the venue as well as maximizing returns via non-race day opportunities, including sponsorship.
The right candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience in the hospitality and/or event management sector, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement a robust business plan. A sound understanding of facility management, basic financial reporting and the ability to work autonomously will also be key ingredients of the role.
This newly formed management position will be responsible for one permanent and various casual staff, requiring a strong leader with the vision to position the Club as a valuable member of the community and a popular entertainment option for local residents. As such, a background in community engagement or similar experience would be considered advantageous.
Experience in the racing industry will be viewed favorably, however not essential as GRSA will provide ongoing administrative support to the successful candidate. The successful candidate will be offered a remuneration package of $60,000 plus 9.5% superannuation and four weeks annual leave.
