The Friday morning meeting at Gawler will see the running of the Gawler Classic final for those greyhounds paid up for Classic 2018. This series was meant to be run in December last year however had to be reprogrammed due to a lack of support. For Friday there were initially 4 greyhounds nominated however after confirmation of eligibility there were only 3 eligible nominations. Friday’s meeting was meant to be heats into a final however with only 3 greyhounds eligible GRSA has decided to run this race as a final to complete the Classic 2018 series. GRSA has made this decision based on the Classic 2018 series is a pay up series with contributions from industry participants, the series has already been moved once due to a lack of support and by making Friday’s meeting a one off final the connections of each of the greyhounds are guaranteed a run and the series is completed rather than waiting a week in the hope there may be more eligible nominations.

GRSA would like to advise due to the exceptional circumstances and conditions of the Gawler Classic that this is the reason we have drawn a 3 dog race onto Friday’s program.
