Gary's Miracle is April's Greyhound of the Month
April's Greyhound of the Month award has been awarded to Gary's Miracle for trainer Michael Stewart after she produced a super month of racing.
Gary's Miracle had six starts during April winning three and placing in the other three with the highlight being the Easter Cup Final over the 600m at Angle Park on April 1. She began brilliantly in the Final where she was able to lead throughout and gave nothing else a chance in winning by 2.5 lengths in a sizzling 34.94 seconds. After two placings, her next brilliant win was at Murray Bridge, this time over the 455m where she ran a slick 25.27 seconds. Another placing at the Bridge followed before her next win came over the 530m trip when she ran sizzling time in winning by 3.5 lengths in 29.69.
The daughter of Magic Sprite and Jenneke has been a fantastic addition to Stewart's kennels since arriving in February from New South Wales and has really taken her form to another level. She has proven to be one of the most versatile and consistent chasers in the State with her wins coming over the 300m, 455m and 530m trips at Murray Bridge as well as the Angle Park 515m and 600m distances. As well as the Easter Cup win, she just missed a berth in March's Murray Bridge Cup where she was a reserve and you would expect she will take the next step to the SA Distance Championship Heats this week over the 680m and then a tilt at the Shane McQueen feature in June at Murray Bridge over the 530m would be on the cards.
'Gary's Miracle has been a real surprise packet in the last three months' racecaller Tim Edwards says, 'She is good over all distances and tough to get past when she leads. Michael Stewart has done a great job with her'.
Gary’s Miracle's career record now stands at 62 starts for 14 wins and 19 placings and earnings just over $34,000.
