Trainers Tony and Lisa Rasmussen capped off a big week with a successful night at Gawler on Sunday night. The Rasmussen team had a big day on Friday afternoon at Murray Bridge when both Tony and Lisa scored a double which accumulated to four winners overall for the day. They continued that form on Sunday night at the Gawler Greyhounds with a strong line-up of greyhounds representing the kennel.

Lisa kicked off the night when she scored a winner in race five with Man Absconded. The ex-Victorian led all of the way from box number three and produced a time of 22.73 while beating home some handy greyhounds in the process. Man Absconded has now won three of his four starts since coming to South Australia. Lisa scored another winner in race seven when Canya Razor jumped well from box one to lead all of the way. He ran a time of 22.85 and showed that he is a very hard dog to catch once he hits the front. The Rasmussen team got the trifecta in that race with Tony training Hail’s Girl who ran second and Mastermind Kid who ran third.

Tony secured his first win for the night in race eight over the 531 meter journey. Victa Emma was lining up from box five after an impressive win at Angle Park earlier in the week. She missed the start but she showed great field navigation to find the front on the home turn and ran home powerfully to run a time 31.38. That was her 5th career win from 42 career starts. Lisa Rasmussen trained the second place getter Spring Line who was also impressive. Tony got another winner in race nine when his strong greyhound George The First got up for a victory. He lobbed close to the early leader which was Impress Patch. He showed off his big motor over the concluding stages to run over the top and win by a length and three quarters. George The First has now had the 8 wins from 38 career starts and his win wrapped up the big night of victories for the Rasmussen team.

Local trainer Nicole Price also continued her strong form with a double. Her greyhound Patched was impressive in race four running a time of 22.76. She also scored later in the night when Spring Bonnie saluted the judge first in race eleven. Greyhound racing will return to Gawler on Wednesday afternoon and Sunday Night this week so get to the track to see some high quality greyhound racing action.
