The Tony Rasmussen trained Follow Me Raja has been in sensational form recently, having won three of his last four starts and he will make his way to Angle Park on Thursday for his first attempt over the 530m distance.

After a slow start to his South Australian journey with two fair runs over the short trip at Angle Park, he went to Murray Bridge and has been able to build his confidence.

Last start over the 455m trip at Murray Bridge he turned over the promising Bernardo Bowl with a fast 25.43 win and it is that form that would see him hard to beat if he could transfer it to the two-turn track.

It’s certainly a winnable grade 6 that he has drawn on Thursday and from box seven he will be looking to jump and run, in order to use his mid race pace that he possesses.

“We’re very happy with the way he’s going at the moment” said co-trainer Lisa Rasmussen

“His last start win was very impressive over the 455 at Murray Bridge.”

“He’s a shy dog who is growing in confidence with each run.”

“His first two starts were over the short trip at Angle Park, he drew awkwardly both times and missed the quick, he hasn’t been back there since.”

“Quietly confident he can end up in the first three on Thursday.”

Cherylee Barber will unveil a first starter on Thursday when Still Got It makes his debut from box four.

The Barcia Bale x Ebby Jul 21’ whelping will be the first to race from his litter and will meet a relatively unknown field, with three first starters engaged in the event.

Cherylee Barber has been no stranger to training a fast one, having mentored stars such as Springvale Maddi, Bedrock Fred and Zinfandel Bart.

“Their isn’t much to say about him, he is just one of a few pups that we have coming through our kennel.” said Cherylee

“He has slowly been improving his trial times each. He’s nothing out of the box, just average at this stage but you have to start some somewhere.”

“Stewart found the litter on Facebook and decided to buy a dog and a bitch, it was a bit of an impulse buy you might say!”

“Fingers crossed and hopefully he gets around safely.”

Tomato Tears was an eye-catching winner last week, with the four and half year old dog showing that he is still more than capable when he produced a super strong effort to beat a good masters field in 30.79.

After joining Tamica Dunn’s kennels a couple of months ago, Tomato Tears has had three starts, all of which have been impressive efforts.

He will face a rise in class this week when he rejoins grade 5 company and will be looking to use all of his strength late if he is to topple them once again.

“Damien (Bates) asked me if I would take him on. I got him just before the John Gray.” said Tamica

“Yes and no (being surprised last week), I know he’s got a strong run home. He’s just such a cruisy and laid back dog, when he was up the back I thought he might run a nice second, but as soon as he came around the bend I thought he was home.”

“I have no idea actually! I haven’t looked at the field but Micheal (Stewart) said to me it’s pretty tough, so we will just play it as it is”
