It was celebrations all round following race 11 at Angle Park on Thursday night as Zipping Whoopi gave Lachlan Mill his first Angle Park win in a best of night 29.74 from box 5. To add to the celebrations, it was the first win for the newly formed ‘Good Man’ Syndicate, formed by Lachlan, his partner Tara Rasmussen and 9 new owners he has brought to the sport.

“It was great to have the owners cheering home the win from the grandstand. Having the syndicate involved in the win makes it all 100 times better.” Lachlan explained.

A newcomer to the sport, Lachlan has been involved in greyhound racing for the last 18 months. “I would watch the dogs while at the pub with mates and wanted to become involved. One day I bit the bullet and called Greyhound Racing SA, who put me in touch with Barry Stewart, who lives close to me.”

“I began helping Barry in the mornings and it went from there. Barry taught me all I know about the sport and I am very grateful for the help he has given me.” Lachlan of Glengowrie continued.

Fast forward 18 months and Lachlan has secured his training licence where he trains Zipping Whoopi and Change of Heart on top of studying to become a teacher.

“I train the dogs before and after studying and work, so it makes for quite a busy day but I absolutely love it. Once I finish my study, I would love to give training a crack full time.”

It is safe to say this won’t be the last Angle Park winner we will see from the Lachlan Mill kennel!
